The English Heritage Trust have confirmed that they will require Heritage Skills Specialist Leadwork CSCS cards for contractors working on projects with significant amounts of histroic leadwork.  This follows a successful pilot project at the Grade 1 listed Audley End House in Essex, whihc deomonstrated that the requirement was straight forward and practical to apply.  More information is available from the English Heritage Trust website. 

The Heritage Skills CSCS card demonstrates a card holder's heritage knowledge and skills.  It was possible for the English Heritage Trust to make the card a requirement as the Lead Contractors Association demonstrated there is a 'critical mass', around 75-80% of specialist lead workers working in the heritage sector were Heritage SKills CSCS card holders.  For more information on how to get the Heritage CSCS card or renew your existing card go to http://www.cscs.uk.com/
