The guide promotes a Whole Building Approach to retrofit, which begins with an assessment of the building and its context. This approach then highlights the interactions between building fabric, services and human behaviour and develops strategies to manage the various forms of risk, with the aim of delivering long term, sustainable improvements to building performance.
