What is On-site assessment and training?
The On Site Assessment and Training Route – generally known as OSAT– has been set up by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to provide a simple yet thorough means of recognising that somebody has the skills and capabilities to work in a trade. The candidate achieves his or her NVQ3 through workplace assessments and by providing evidence that they meet the National Occupational Standards for skilled workers at the NVQ Level required.
What are the eligibility requirements?
- You must be employed by a CITB registered company. If you are unsure if you are CITB registered or would like advice on how to become registered, please contact the Project Officer
- You must be able to demonstrate that you already have the skills, or can meet the National Occupational Standards for skilled workers at the NVQ Level 3 within the 18 month timescale of the OSAT
