The Wales Traditional and Sustainability Building Skills Advisory Group was established in August 2009. The group has a wide range of sector representatives and was formed to integrate traditional building skills with the sustainable, low-carbon and energy efficient agenda in Wales. This is crucial to ensure that the skills required to repair, maintain and the retro-fitting of existing pre-1919 buildings; which makes up a third of the Welsh building stock – are available now and for the future.
